People Manager – North England, Scotland, and Ireland

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours.
Our ideal candidate would be in the North of England, ideally Manchester / Leeds / Liverpool.
This role involves regular travel across your area and frequent overnight stays due to the geographical spread, so a valid UK Driving is essential.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting a People Manager to join our team. You will provide a HR business partner service to all stores within your assigned regions (across the North of the UK, Scotland & Northern Ireland), working with Area Managers and their Store teams to support operational HR issues and the delivery of the People Plan. Reporting to the People Director your main responsibilities will be:
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with Area Managers to support the delivery of business objectives.
- Provide coaching, development, and support to Managers.
- Ensure all ER issues are handled well and in line with best practice.
- Provide professional and commercial advice to managers on a range of issues in line with current legislation and company guidelines.
- Champion culture and engagement throughout all areas of the business
- Ensure the performance management process is carried out consistently in stores and evaluate the effectiveness of the process.
- Advise managers on procedures for both short term and long-term sickness, and support health review meetings where required.
- Support the content and implementation of effective development plans for Managers.
- Implement the Management induction process and ensure follow up reviews are conducted.
- Maintain the training database for store employees as training is delivered.
- Support the new store recruitment process and attend the new store induction programme place.
About You
- CIPD qualified.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant HR experience
- Retail background or at least worked in a multi-site environment.
- Proven ability to influence at all levels.
- Work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- High commercial awareness
- Drive, energy, and persistence
- Sound knowledge of employment law and employee relations
