PEOPLE MANAGER | FTC | HIGH WYCOMBE
We’re looking for an incredible People Manager to join our People team on a 12-month fixed term contract to look after our Head Office and Warehouse teams and play a key role in the delivery of an effective, timely and commercially focused HR operations service.
You’ll support the implementation of the People strategy with a particular focus on partnering, building our people capability in Head Office and Warehouse, and supporting employee engagement.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Effectively partner with Senior Managers at Head Office and the Warehouse acting as a “trusted advisor” on their people plans, including structures, roles, manpower planning, talent, succession, and employee engagement. You’ll partner with manager across Head Office and Warehouse to understand their structures and resourcing needs, redesigning job descriptions, ensuring headcount and budget requirements are considered at each stage.
- Manage all employee relations issues in Head Office and Warehouse, acting as an escalation point for complex cases and ensuring an excellent HR advice and support service is always offered.
- Work with the relevant Senior Management Team members to ensure The Perfume Shop is aligned to IR35 legislation, and that appropriate contracts are in place. As well as working with the Head of People and the Retail People Manager on the development to People Policy updates in line with legislative requirements, trends, and good practice.
- Regularly review and update the headcount and staffing budget requirements for Head Office & Warehouse. You’ll support the Reward Manager with the annual pay review and bonus process where needed, ensuring employees are notified of their changes in advance.
- Support the Head of People and lead on various key people projects, e.g. restructures and tender meetings, ensuring that all legal processes are followed and with minimal impact on the business and employees.
- Manage your team by developing, coaching and mentoring them to develop their skills, taking ownership for conducting regular one to one meetings, setting clear and achievable objectives and making sure development plans are in place.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- You are already operating at a HR/People Manager level and have previous similar experience. You enjoy working in a people focused business where you can partner with managers on their people plans.
- CIPD qualified to Level 5 or higher and have an excellent knowledge of relevant employment law, TUPE and its practical application in an operational environment.
- You’re people focused and possess strong team leadership and management skills, you enjoy managing and leading a small team. You’re great at building and maintaining strong internal relationships with client groups and the wider business
- Excellent skills in operational workload planning and the ability to use data to support robust plans and great change management skills, having effectively led and successfully delivered these projects in the past.
- Financial literacy sufficient to understand and contribute to budget management.
