Department Overview
People Experience, (previously Human Resources HR)) is a Global Corporate enabling function with the purpose of developing capabilities, talent, and organisations to enable Pfizer to succeed in the present climate whilst simultaneously building for the future. We have an exciting Undergraduate placement opportunity for a student to gain a 12-month placement within our Talent Acquisition Team focusing on recruitment.
What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?
Reporting to the Early Careers Recruitment Manager, you will gain insights into, and have the opportunity to influence, Recruitment within the Pfizer UK business. Spanning across many business units and networking with many hundreds of colleagues, you will be given the opportunity to work within a busy HR environment enabling you to develop critical business skills and work as part of an established HR team.
You will work within the Talent Acquisition team, launching the Undergraduate 2023 recruitment campaign and being involved in activities such as developing/ maintaining relationships with Universities, updating the campaign website, assist hiring managers to create gender balanced job descriptions, helping the recruitment life-cycle from start to finish, including being involved in candidate selection and offer processes.
Other opportunities will include:
- Co-ordinating with different universities activities which enhance and diversify undergraduate candidate pools.
- Building strong relations with academia and deliver the Pfizer Undergraduate Recruitment Campaign.
- Liaising with hiring manager to confirm their Undergraduate placement needs.
- Creating and maintaining Undergraduate Programme trackers.
- Maintenance of internal website including testing, job description conversion and approval of site for ‘go live’.
- Managing job openings in an Applicant Tracking System (Workday).
- Launching the External campaign on our website and engaging direct marketing to Universities.
- Arranging and coordinating the interview selection process, assessment days, and issuing of offers.
- Managing Pre-Employment Screening activities for all students including Right to Work Checks.
- Processing of any incurred expenses through our internal expense system.
- Submission of Health and Safety documents as and when requested by the Universities.

- Build, develop and deliver a work experience programme for Pfizer UK, collaborating with other UK sites for delivery to external students
- Attend various skills building sessions include Networking, Presentation Skills, Interview Training, CV writing
- Pastoral assistance throughout the programme from programme manager
- Opportunity to assist in general recruitment of full time employees (FTE)
When can I start?
Placements will start on 4th September 2023 and will run for 12 months.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:
- A current student at a UK University completing a placement as part of a placement year or gap year
- Ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects at a time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
- Strong attention to detail
- Have demonstrable skills working with Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and other Microsoft packages
Who can apply?
Applicants must be completing placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year.
