Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. In an average year Dogs Trust centres care for over 14,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.
We are now recruiting for a People Experience Officer to support the People Experience Manager in developing and implementing the people experience operational plan and proposition for both our employees and our volunteers. This will include the employee end-to-end experience and driving engagement and communication initiatives to enable a positive employee experience. You will focus on early careers/apprenticeships, but will also be involved in wellbeing, onboarding, engagement, culture, talent and career management, performance, and EED&I.
This new role sits within the Learning and Organisational Development team in HR and will work closely with the People Experience Manager, L&D Manager, and the Volunteering Development Manager to look at how we engage and stay in touch with our employees and volunteers. HR plays a key role in defining and supporting our developing organisational culture, driving high levels of employee engagement, proactive day to day people management and positive people behaviours.
To be successful in this role you will have good knowledge and practical experience of planning and managing apprenticeship programmes across subject areas including requirements of apprenticeship programmes both in terms of quality assurance and funding body requirements. You will have previous experience of supporting employee engagement and internal communication activity, including the implementation of wellbeing initiatives, supporting the running of employee surveys and providing meaningful information to senior management from the data. .
A strong project manager and superb communicator, you will have excellent written English, a keen eye for detail, and an ability to work to tight deadlines. An ability to be flexible, think on your feet and respond quickly to new initiatives is also essential.
