Our people are at the heart of Wincanton. That’s where you come in, as a HR/ER People Advisor reporting into our People Manager within our Group Transport sector for our customer Sainsburys, in Dartford. Supporting our operation with HR expertise, from colleague onboarding, coaching Line Managers on HR policies/ people training and ER case management.
Joining our People Team, we work in collaboration onsite with our operational leaders to provide efficient guidance on all matters relating to HR. The salary for this role is between £32,000 - £35,000 p.a depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support our People Manager to embed transitional People strategies into business.
- Partner with our operational leaders in accurately reporting and performing to HR People KPIs (ex. attrition, absence, recruitment)
- Embed activities to drive high levels of employee engagement, retention and inclusivity, following our values and ‘Wincanton Way’.
- Support in employee relations case management, advising managers with processes and policies.
- Proactive engagement in People related projects and initiatives (ex. Wellbeing, diversity and inclusion).
- Lead your people team including performance objective setting, 121s, development planning and career conversations.
- Engage colleague feedback, NPS and listening groups through colleague engagement.
- Support in delivery of a quality induction programme and coordinate ongoing training where required.
This role is based on-site, Monday to Friday.
What will you bring to our team:
We’re looking for you to be bold, curious and engaging with your HR knowledge and experience.
- Proven experience in people management at HR Advisor level (with a focus on employee relations).
- Experience in supporting industrial relations and/or employee relations matters (ex. Exposure to unions, grievances and disciplinary/suspension processes.
- Knowledge and understanding in employment T&C’s and statutory elements.
- Managing employee data through secure platforms (Oracle Cloud or Kronos is desirable).
- Proven experience in delivering a positive colleague experience through knowledge and methodologies.
- Improvement mindset with ability to be able to sensitively but critically evaluate how a plan has been delivered.
