Part time 3 days per week (21.6hrs) – Temporary Maternity Cover up to May 2024

About the role
To work within the legislative framework of the Education Act 1996 to ensure that children and young people are in receipt of a suitable education
To ensure that the School Attendance Order process is completed within designated timeframes
To assist in the consideration of incoming penalty notice requests for cases of poor attendance and assist the Operational Manager in ensuring that the Code of Conduct is applied consistently and fairly across the Local Authority. To be the key contact for schools in the submission and monitoring of new starters and leavers
Previous experience of working with children, young people and their families is required, preferably, but not exclusively, within an educational setting. You will need to be enthusiastic, committed to the values of education and be able to organise your work efficiently and effectively. Full supervision and training will be provided.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The London Borough of Redbridge is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults across the Borough. As such the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act relating to the non-disclosure of spent convictions do not apply to this job.
