PEER SUPPORT WORKER (South West Safe Haven)
Service: Safe Haven
Contract: Fixed Term (until 08 Mar 24)
Hours: 30 hours per week (rota basis, shifts between 4.30pm - 11.30pm, 7 days a week)
Salary: £28,618 to £30,280 pro rata per annum (includes unsocial hours enhancement)
Location: Eastleigh

About the role
Peer Support is recognised as a key component of modern mental health and wellbeing provision. Peer support roles are specifically for people who have lived experience of mental health problems. Through sharing wisdom from their own experiences, peer support staff and volunteers will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible in others. They work in support of Solent Mind’s vision, ‘‘We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.”
This service is a crisis drop in centre for those experiencing , or at risk of a crisis delivered in partnership between Solent Mind and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

About you
You will need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting and empowering others.
