Job Summary
Summary:
The SMT Operator is responsible for the machine operations in the SMT department, which include machine set-up, line maintenance, and ensuring the performance of programs used on the SMT line.

- Work with internal Quality department to eliminate placement and solder process errors
- Work with the engineering department to ensure programs, stencils, fixtures are ready prior to starting a new project
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, prints, procedures, and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs and systems
- Verify kitted part numbers and values prior to loading necessary materials into SMT machines to avoid error
- Perform visual inspection of SMT assemblies and feeder loading and set up with kits
- Troubleshoot program, process, or machinery issues and notifies manufacturing engineer to rectify the issue
- Operate and maintain paste printers, Fuji NXT/Aimex (pick and place machines), screen printer, reflow oven, and AOI machines

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of the position:
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or an adequate combination of education and experience that would demonstrate the capability to perform the role.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of part and component identification
- Experience with hand placement and PCB Assembly skills
- Working knowledge of IPC-610 standard and electronic assembly equipment
- Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, Fuji Flexa, M-Edit, GC Prevue
