Are you a forward-thinking, tech-savvy and self-motivated payroll professional looking to work for a friendly accounting firm with lovely clients? We are actively recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join the team of an award-winning accountancy practice in Reading.
The Role:
In this role, you will oversee all elements of the delivery of the firm’s payroll service. The main responsibility of the Payroll Administrator is to make certain that payroll requirements and billing targets are managed and met to ensure monthly payrolls are billed.
The Payroll portfolio encompasses payroll, pension and P11D services, and involves communicating with clients and processing their payroll requirements. You will report directly to and work with the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure payroll increases (or decreases) are captured in increased (or decreased) invoices
- Monthly KPI reporting
- Complete weekly and monthly payroll for clients via various types of software, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Communicate effectively with clients using telephone and email
- Action client advice requests
- Review and improve the payroll processes and services to ensure that the firm continues to provide a modern, professional, client-focused service
- Regularly review and communicate the company payroll price list.
- Have awareness of new billing opportunities
- Take part in the marketing and promotion of the practice’s payroll service
- Collaborate and communicate with team members
- Ensure a seamless customer service experience
- Other tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the practice and the overall business objectives of the organisation
What you bring to the table:
You are a doer who can think outside the box and knows that one solution isn’t necessarily the only one for a problem. With excellent organisation and tech skills, you expertly manage and execute the payroll needs of clients. Your communication skills are top-notch with the ability to make clients and colleagues alike feel at ease.
- Extensive working knowledge of various payroll systems (specifically, Moneysoft)
- 3-4+ years of payroll experience, ideally within a practice environment
- CIPP qualification is desired
- Excellent customer service, organisation and communication skills
- Confident, motivated self-starter with the ability to manage your time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Tech-savvy with the ability to think outside the box
- Must be based in the Reading are and not require visa sponsorship
