The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is a large progressive academic research Department studying the nervous system to find new treatments for neurological disorders such as Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. We also study neurosurgical topics, addressing patient care for those affected by traumatic brain injury and other disorders of the nervous system. Research from the Department has real life impact, and we now have an exciting opportunity for an established Finance professional to enable further impact in the position of Senior Finance Coordinator.
Liaising with the Department Business Management Team and as a member of the Department Executive, the Senior Finance Coordinator will manage all Finance matters such as, the costing, monitoring and reporting of the department's multi-million-pound research grant budgets, department 'core' and Major Research Facility budgets, plus extensive general ledger activity. They will collaborate with Finance colleagues internally and externally to deliver efficient and friendly Finance support.
Recent staff survey data showed that 84% of staff consider the Department to be a great place to work and this post will lead the finance team at the heart of the Department, to further enhance the positive working experience for all staff and enable delivery of further research impact.
The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and on confirmation of appointment, the successful candidate will adopt the Department's hybrid working model, consisting of days of work at home and days of work alongside the members of the finance team and wider department business operations team.
