West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager to lead our Payroll team and be responsible for the production of our two monthly payrolls.
As Payroll Manager you will be expected to manage the delivery of an efficient, effective and professional customer focused Payroll Service to all officers, staff, and managers in accordance with Force Objectives, Policy and Procedures and legislative requirements.
You will need to be our subject matter expert on specialist areas of Payroll. You’ll be expected to continually review the payroll system and processes to develop opportunities for improvement in service whilst maintaining the integrity and availability of the system and records whilst meeting the organisational needs and always delivering value for money.

West Yorkshire Police wishes to employ a committed, resilient, motivated, and professional candidate to lead the Payroll Team within the Finance Department's Headquarters based in Wakefield City Centre.
You will be called upon to work with the Head of Payroll and Pensions to foster a culture of continuous improvement of the payroll system, processes, and service standards. You’ll need undertake regular research, compliance audits and case reviews to identify areas for improvement and develop associated action plans including system configuration.
This is a varied, and demanding role which requires excellent managerial, customer service, organisational and negotiating skills. You will play a key part in promoting West Yorkshire Police; therefore, a personable, helpful, and friendly manner is crucial to ensuring our officers and staff receive the best experience possible.
