POSITION: Payroll and Benefits Manager REPORTS TO: Controller, Bakery Division
Our Payroll and Benefits Manager will have oversight for the administration of the company’s Payroll and Benefits function including multijurisdictional payroll and employee benefits, HRIS reporting and ensuring the effective delivery of Payroll and Benefits services throughout the organization. This role will report directly to the Controller, Bakery Division and will maintain a dotted line reporting relationship with the Senior Director, People & Culture – Corporate.

In this role, you will be responsible for leadership of the payroll and benefits functions and delivery of HRIS reporting services at Silver Hills. Your leadership will directly contribute to the success of Silver Hills as an employer of choice. - You are an expert in many different areas of Payroll Administration including payroll, HRIS and employee benefits
- You have had some exposure to HRIS programming and implementation skills (preferably Ceridian)
- You have strong knowledge and understanding of BC Employment Standards legislation
- You have proven leadership and coaching skills
- You are an effective communicator with a strong written and verbal communication skills
- You have 5+ years of progressive experience working in a Payroll and Benefit leadership level roles or related experience
- You have a Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- You have experience working in a culturally diverse work environment
- You have experience leading and developing a team
- CPHR or relevant professional designation
- You have experience working in a food manufacturing facility
- You have experience supporting US-based employees including benefits administration
- You are an expert in Ceridian Dayforce
- Responsible for the payroll function for the corporate group
- Support the negotiation and administration of employee benefits for the corporate group
- Develop a detailed knowledge of the company’s payroll and HRIS systems and tools
- Lead training and documentation development for payroll and benefits platforms
- Ensure compliance with payroll reporting and taxation in all jurisdictions where the business operates
- Implement and maintain the company’s HRIS for efficient and scalable payroll administration and reporting
- Oversee various learning & development initiatives and provide ongoing coaching to your team
- Lead the administration of the company’s profit sharing, performance bonus and wage increase cycles
- Support P&C team with employee related items as required and ensure hiring and termination compliance
- Support strategic growth initiatives which may include acquisitions or other growth opportunities in new jurisdictions
