NORCAL Ambulance has an exciting opportunity– as a Payroll Clerk in our finance department.

Basic Functions:Primary responsibilities include assisting with employee questions, data analysis, review and prepare payroll reports using Microsoft Excel as well as Google Sheets, special project support and the processing of bi-weekly payroll for 800+ employees.
Responsibilities:o Process confidential employee information.
o Enter, process, review and close bi-weekly payroll for 800+ employees.
o Enter garnishments and payroll deductions.
o Process employee exit data, paperwork and paychecks.
o Review, track and prepare payroll reports using Microsoft Excel as well as Google Sheets.
o Review timecards for time and attendance by using Traumasoft software.
o Finalize employee onboarding details in the payroll software to ensure accurate pay.
o Calculate employee payments as applicable to expense reports, bonus structures, and variable pay rates.
o Meet payroll timelines in accordance with procedures and policies.
o Produce periodic payroll reports to assist in special projects as needed.
o Perform miscellaneous office duties such as filing, supply orders, office supply restocking, and light clean up duties.
o Provide accurate and concise information via phone calls as well as emails.
o Communicate with employees regarding their needs for payroll related questions.
o Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
o Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
o Audit and update payroll information by using Paylocity software.
o Maintain professional communication with coworkers and respond to internal correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
o Work with all other departments to ensure accurate payroll processing for all employees.
Skills:o Must be computer savvy with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office skills, 10-key and Google mail.
o Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
o Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.
o Fast learner with strong fundamental skills.
o Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and quickly.
o Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
o Ability to multi-task and work in a time sensitive, fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Requirements:Requirements:
o Payroll experience is preferred.
o Computer and Microsoft Excel intermediate skills.
o Internal customer service skills.
o College degree is desired. General accounting classes or job experience is highly valued.
o Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of payroll.
o High school diploma or general education degree (GED), minimum.
