Job Description


Primary role purpose:

This role will support the Global Payroll team with the accurate processing of the Inmarsat’s global payrolls, providing a first-class service to our customers. This role will primarily cover the USA & Canada but will provide cover to other global payrolls during times of absence. The advisor will also assume responsibility for monitoring costs and receipting of goods in line with vendor service contracts. They will work closely with the HR and Reward teams in managing International Assignments.


Qualifications


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the delivery of the country payrolls assigned to you
  • Responsible for all Payroll activities including but not limited to: transferring data to Payroll vendor, validation of payroll output, off-cycle payroll runs, manual payments, managing payroll schedules and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Provision and manipulation of month end payroll data to relevant parties
  • Build and foster customer relations with key business partners, both internal and external
  • Act as first point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders’ payroll questions or concerns
  • Resolving employee payroll enquiries within SLA guidelines
  • Ensure process controls are in place, maintained, validated and update process documentations as applicable to ensure compliance
  • Perform peer review approvals
  • Creation and maintenance of employee knowledge based articles
  • Management and tracking of international assignees, ensuring local statutory requirements are being met and allowances are being paid in line with the assignment agreements.
  • Accountable for the production and upkeep of the payroll calendar
  • Responsible for supporting and coordinating internal external Payroll audits
  • Support improvement of existing work processes and systems
  • Identify and present solutions for continuous process improvement
  • Manage and perform 'Root Cause Analysis' on issues faces and suggest appropriate corrective action for current remediation and future control
  • Perform routine and non-routine data retrieval, research, analysis and reporting from payroll records as requested
  • Ensure payroll knowledge is maintained and up to date with current legislation changes
  • Contribute to HR projects as required

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven international payroll experience (+5 years)
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of tax and social security deductions
  • Self-motivated
  • Payroll qualified CIPP or similar
  • Team player
  • Strong communicator
  • Familiar with a payroll outsourced model
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to manipulate data within excel

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience using SAP HR platform
  • Experience of case mgt system (Service Now)
