We are currently looking for a Payroll Advisor to join us on a 12 months fixed term contract. The payroll department provides a payroll service to 6,500 colleagues across our retail estate, distribution sector and head office. In this position you will be in involved in all aspects of processing of processing a timely and accurate payroll and for ensuring government regulations in relation to payroll are adhered to.
You will have previous payroll experience or experience of working in a customer service role dealing with conflict resolution as we can offer training. In addition to this you will have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively to meet deadlines.
Key Accountabilities:
- Respond to payroll queries both written and verbally
- Manual calculation of SSP & SMP
- Creating payment files using Excel
- Liaise with HMRC regarding PAYE queries
- Thorough reconciliation of various payroll reports to ensure overall accuracy
- Previous experience in payroll
- Great attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with highly developed customer facing skills
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines using own initiative.
- Strong computer skills
