Your role in a nutshell
To ensure end to end payroll processing is completed accurately and on time utilizing in house systems and your knowledge and experience whilst supporting the business and employees. This is a full time, permanent position working on a hybrid basis out of our Littlehampton, West Sussex office.

- Process all payroll administration as detailed in the Payroll Roles and Responsibilities document
- Input permanent and temporary changes to the payroll systems to ensure all records maintained, legal requirements adhered to and payments to employees are accurate and on time
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records and relevant systems
- Carry out checks by applying various regulations and respecting deadlines and company systems
- Process all statutory and voluntary deductions and provide support to the Payroll Manager to ensure payment and reporting to third parties is carried out within legislative deadlines
- Consolidate data, ensuring the reliability of data, and prepare common indicators
- Provide support and expertise to all 7 legislation areas covered, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Eire, Jersey and Guernsey, ensuring compliance with local law as well as keeping up to date with legislation changes
- Processing of auto-enrolment and associated responsibilities
- Support the Payroll Manager in analysis and reconciliations on the payroll reports liaising with Finance and HR as required to ensure accuracy of payroll payments and costing allocation
- Provide support and assistance to HR colleagues on matters relating to pay
- Support local time & attendance system by responding to employees’ queries and assisting with changes, upgrades and necessary training
What we look for
- Experience in high volume end to end payroll processing using payroll systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office software
- Payroll legislation knowledge essential in all 7 areas above
- Experience of payroll, HR databases, T & A systems
- Knowledge of RTI requirements
- Knowledge of AE requirements
- Experience within a shared service centre desirable
- Customer service experience
- Diploma/Certification in Payroll is desirable but not essential
