Job description
Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Administrator to join our Payroll Team within the HR Shared Services department here at DB Cargo UK’s Head Quarters in Doncaster.
You will be joining a busy payroll team, supporting the process of a 4 weekly pay cycle for DB Cargo UK 2500 colleagues, including expenses and overtime payment.
Working within a small payroll team, you will be responsible for collating information and ensuring that all transactions are correctly completed on time. You will also be working with different departments processing expense claims and allocating them to the correct cost centre, as well as liaising with third parties.

What will you be doing?
Processing new starter and levers information.
Ensuring all statutory payments are paid correctly.
Dealing with expense and overtime forms across the company.
Administration of the flexible pension schemes including the automatic enrolment.
Performing internal checks to ensure all transactions are compliant.
Assist with month End / Year End P60 and P11d.
General payroll administration.
Resolve payroll queries.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a candidate who has the proactiveness and organisational skills to work within this varied role and who can display a willingness to learn and develop.
You will demonstrate strong administration skills as well as a strong understanding of Microsoft programmes including Excel to an intermediate level.
An ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working within a payroll team, however we are also looking for candidates who are keen to start their journey into payroll and can demonstrate the right attitudes, behaviours and transferrable work experience.
Experience of ADP is preferred but knowledge of any payroll packages such as SAP, SAGE etc would also be considered.
Proactiveness and being able to prioritise workloads is essential for this position as well having excellent communications skills as the role requires communication not only with the rest of the payroll team, but also through-out the company.
CIPP training is desirable as well as a completed apprenticeship in payroll however this is not essential.
Due to the nature of the position, it is important for candidates to conduct themselves in a discrete and professional manner.
