ROLE
This is a seasonal, part time (3 days per week) role to support our Payroll & Benefits Advisor and wider HR team during the busiest part operationally of the year, for a period of 5 months. The role of Payroll Administrative Assistant is to collect the required information and then assist processing Ascot Racecourses payroll for monthly paid staff and race and event day staff, working closely and proactively with the HR team and other departments, primarily Bet with Ascot and Venue Operations who engage with race, event day and casual staff in order to process payroll in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collates and maintains monthly payroll information by working with HR to collect data on joiners, leavers and other changes impacting payroll.
- Collates and maintains raceday payroll information by working with HR and other departments to accurately record and process casual workers hours and overtime.
- Prepares reports and analysis as required.
- Distributes payslips and P45 documentation.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Answer general payroll and pension queries.
- Filing and archiving payroll information
- Book and co-ordinate monthly payroll meetings
- Process pension letters
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Race and Event days as required.
- Such other duties as the Company may, at times, reasonably require.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous payroll experience
- An understanding of Tax, National Insurance, Pensions and Statutory payments
- Experience managing payroll processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Organised and a proactive can-do attitude
- Good Technology skills including Outlook, Excel and MS Teams
- Methodical and good numeracy skills
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
