Job description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and capable individual to join as a Paws Protect Manager for our new Midlands service, working 35 hours per week and in return you will receive a salary of up to £32,894.59 per annum plus excellent benefits.
The role will be based at an office in South Birmingham but will involve regular travel across East and West Midlands. Cats Protection is operating a system of hybrid working, with the flexibility to working from home when appropriate. This can be discussed further at interview stage.
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of adoption and homing centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2021, we helped 137,000 cats and kittens. That's the equivalent of around 375 cats a day!
Cats Protection’s Paws Protect is a pet fostering service for anyone fleeing domestic abuse. The majority of our referrals come from women fleeing domestic abuse via women-only services. The service places cats into volunteer foster homes on a temporary basis until their owners can be reunited with them.
Due to the nature of this role, this post is for women only and is exempt under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Responsibilities of our Paws Protect Manger:
As Paws Protect Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of this service including line management of the Paws Protect Assistants for the Midlands, facilitating the support & work across East and West Midlands. You will be responsible for recruiting and managing the project volunteers as well as promoting and developing the service. Part of this role involves transporting cats and regular driving across East and West Midlands, so candidates should have a full UK driving license. An understanding of the problems faced by families fleeing domestic abuse with pets is expected.
What we’re looking for in our Paws Protect Manager:
- experience of working with or on behalf of vulnerable adults/families
- experience of recruitment, managing and supporting volunteers
- excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relations
- ability to deal with sensitive situations and cope under pressure in an appropriate manner
- strong organisational skills and able to prioritise and manage workload
- a full, clean, manual UK driving licence and experience of driving as part of a previous role
- good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
What we can offer you:
- salary of up to £32,894.59 per annum plus
- generous annual leave entitlement
- contribution pension scheme
- life assurance scheme
- range of health benefits including private healthcare
- Employee Assistance Programme
- and more
Join us as our Paws Protect Manager and know you are helping to make a real difference to cats and their owners across the Midlands!
