Patrolling City Warden
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent
Play a key role in for maintaining a safe environment for the citizens of Leicester.
Working collaboratively with other officers, you’ll patrol designated areas of the city to detect and enforce street scene offences and maintain a clean and attractive environment. Carrying a rucksack containing protective equipment such as gloves and masks, you’ll be given a smartphone, radio, and pocketbook to carry out your role effectively. You’ll be supplied with a uniform to wear. As you’ll work across the city in all weathers, you’ll have access to vehicles and electric bikes.
This is full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week including some evenings and weekends.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll improve the quality of the local environment by being a visible and approachable ‘on the street’ presence and a point of contact for the public. You’ll take enforcement action when necessary, including issuing face to face fines and legal notices. Engaging with the local communities, businesses, and the public you’ll promote the local environment and provide information about enforcement and associated matters.
What you'll need
Resilient and assertive, you’ll have experience of dealing with and working with a diverse range of people, as well as experience of enforcement activities. Working on your own initiative as well as part of a team, you’ll be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. With tact and diplomacy, you’ll be able to deal with irate or distressed customers whilst maintaining good customer care standards. With good attention to detail and literacy skills you’ll be able to make accurate recordings of events, observations, and conversations.
You’ll have a full driving licence and be required to complete a security check as you will also be working at Mansfield House Police Station.
