Patient Transport Services (PTS) drive patients to and from their hospital appointments and, when required, help patients settle back home following appointments.
Typical duties of the role include:
Collecting and transferring patients from home to hospital appointments.
Helping/Lifting patients that are not able to make their own way to the ambulance.
Transporting safely and being punctual for all non- emergency appointments.
Support/help patients to settle back at home after appointments
Driving in a C Class vehicle.
Keeping Journey records updated and accurate.
PTS may deal with elderly people, people with a physical disability or mental health problems. A PTS may also need to transport people who are seriously ill with specific medical needs.
Qualifications and training required
As PTS you need a FREC 3 or First Aid at Work Certificate.
Minimum requirements for this role
Hold a current DBS or a DBS check will be provided by the company.
Hold a full current driving licence for not less than 1 year, allowing up to a maximum of 6 points.

- TB Test completed by TIB
- Ilets test or a degree/PHD certificate by ECTIS
