Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS FT commitment is working in partnership with patients, families, and carer in a transparent and open way in the development of safer services for everyone.Our organisation is working to recruit Patient Safety Partners (PSPs) who will be actively involved in safety governance to design safer healthcare at all levels across our organisation. PSP's will for example, sit on relevant committees to support compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed while providing appropriate challenge to ensure learning and change. The PSP should ensure that any committee/group of which they are a member considers and prioritises the service user, patient, carer and family perspective and champions a diversity of views.They will help the development and implementation of relevant strategy and policy. PSP's role is to reflect the voice and needs of people who use hospital health services including patients, family members, carers and the public. The Trust is looking to recruit two Patient Safety Partners (PSP) working across the Trust's sites (Bedford Hospital) & (Luton and Dunstable), each person committing to 10 hours of participation each month (20 hours participation in total).The Trust will make involvement payments of £150 per calendar month to each Patient Safety Partner (£1,800 each, £3,600 in total per annum).
