Job description

The London North West London NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for an experienced fulltime permanent Band 6 Midwife with an interest in Patient Safety . The role will be integral to the development, monitoring and improvement within Maternity services.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in risk management along with great communication, data analysis and presentation skills.

We are looking for a midwife who is motivated and dynamic, who has an ability to influence others, manage changes and who wishes to support teams to implement the local and national recommendations across our maternity unit. You must have experience of working across all clinical areas in maternity.

  • Daily review of Datix, triage incidents by harm level and appropriate follow-up and allocation of incidents.
  • Ensure review by Multidisciplinary team for complex cases/incidents
  • Undertake completion of 72 hours reports and serious incident reports
  • Be the liaison with other units to promote external review of cases
  • To share learning from incidents at governance meetings and other forums (risk newsletter, Mandatory training)
  • To monitor actions from MDT findings via a tracking system
  • To audit and analyse data from Datix, trackers and feedback from families and clinicians
  • To support the compliance with action 1 and 10 of the maternity incentive scheme programme
  • The job will involve a proportion of clinical shifts
