Pastoral Support Assistant
Start date: ASAP
Salary: NJC Scale 4 point 7 to 11 £22,369 to £24,054 FTE. Actual Salary £16,852 to £18,121 per annum
Hours of work: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus 5 training days (39 weeks per year)
Contract: Permanent
We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Pastoral Support Assistant to cover to work with the pastoral teams in the College. The role is fundamental to the successful running of the Year Team, working very closely with the Head of Year. The College operates a system whereby Year Teams remain with their cohort as they move up through the school, allowing for strong and trusting relationships to be formed with pupils and their families.
The successful candidate will start with supporting the transition of current Year 6 pupils to the College over the summer and become the Pastoral Support Assistant for Year 7 in September. This is an excellent opportunity to build a rapport with the new students as they join the school and to follow them throughout their journey in Cambourne Village College as they progress through the years. The successful candidate will have a vital role to play in the day-to-day running of the Year Team and consistently implementing its policies and ethos. The successful candidate will be required to work with pupils, parents and staff extremely closely and play an active role in the Year Team.
Cambourne Village College is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rated, over-subscribed secondary school, eight miles from Cambridge. We opened as an academy of the Cam Academy Trust in September 2013. Planning and building is underway to open a 350 place sixth form, with 175 students in each of Years 12 and 13, effective from 2024.
