You will be responsible for leading the design, planning, provisioning, ongoing maintenance and development of the IMCM Data Platform, and creating and updating documentation for the IMCM-specific aspects of the Data Platform. You will work with the data management and data science teams to ensure IMCM researchers’ software requirements on the Platform are met, and you will ensure the security of the Platform, applying updates and configuration checks, arranging penetration tests if needed. You will collaborate with Data Managers, Information Compliance and Information Security teams to ensure datasets are safely and appropriately managed.
It is essential that you hold a degree in a relevant subject. You will need experience of cloud platform engineering for production services. GCP experience is essential; experience with an additional provider preferred (Azure). You will have a good understanding of technology stacks from networks up to applications, and hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi. It is essential you have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a supportive, helpful culture and work very closely with end users.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.
This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 5 years and is funded by GSK.
