Role: Pastoral support assistant
Location: Sevenoaks, Kent
Salary: £18,000 (Pro rata)
Contract: temp to perm
Pathway Education is working with a “Good” rated school in Sevenoaks, Kent that is looking for a full-time Pastoral support assistant to work with young people with SEMH (nurturing needs). The role is in the induction unit of the school which supports new students who recently arrived at the school. They have their own area where staff give them academic and social support and prepare them for joining the main school. They follow a reduced timetable, and modified school day.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with previous pastoral experience or someone looking to get experience in a pastoral position if your background is from another sector. The school is looking for a confident, patient, nurturing, and resilient pastoral assistant that can work well with pupils in small groups and 1:1. Suitable pastoral assistant candidates:
· Will have previous school experience, or somebody that has been working with young people as a youth worker, mentor, sports coach, or social worker)
· Will be flexible, proactive, reliable, patient and a good team member with a sense of humour
· Having your own transport is desirable due to the location of the school and there being no public transport services nearby
· Can work Monday to Friday (8.45am – 4.00pm)
