Job description
Part time or full time MCA qualified Boat Master or Plymouth Local Boat Master.
The job is to act as Skipper and occasional deckhand onboard a Plymouth Ferry Service operating between the Barbican and Mount Batten.
You will be expected to cover all duties associated with an MCA Boat Master. These will include the safe operation of a domestic/local license passenger vessel, safe control of passengers. Daily crew instruction/orders of onboard task. Basic maintenance duties, Schedule planned vessel of life saving appliances and fire fighting appliances. Washdown and onboard cleaning tasks. Upkeep and daily completion of the companies safety management system logs. Cash handling
Full familiarity and induction training will be given. Help will be given to obtain a Plymouth local Boat Masters License but mandatory requirements of RYA skippers qualification needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Good small boat handling ability
VHF/SRC course
RYA powerboat, coastal skipper, Yachtmaster
ENG1 or ML5 Medical
Fire fighting/Sea survival/First Aid
Basic Mechanical knowledge
Desirable: MCA Boat Master Tier 2 level 2
