How you'll make a difference
You will work with children who are vulnerable or who have special needs ensuring they receive a safe, relaxed and calm trip to and from school.
You will be responsible for providing care and assistance to safeguard vulnerable children and young people whilst on transport.
What will you be doing?
- Your main responsibility will be to maintain order and supervise the children on the vehicle at all times. This may be assisting them on and off the bus, helping them with their seat belts and generally looking after their needs.
- You will take primary responsibility for the physical and social care of passengers during the transporting to and from school.
- In this role, you will need to report any issues affecting any of the children and make sure they are accurately relayed to parents, the school and the Integrated Transport team.
- This role also provides opportunities to gain a permanent employment within the service if required.
What we need from you
- We require you to have the ability to deal with children in a calm, understanding, caring and empathetic manner.
- You will be physically able to assist children on and off the vehicle where required.
An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this post.
