Passenger Assistant Role Profile
Opportunities have arisen in the Transport and Allowances Team to appoint 5 part time, term time only Passenger Assistants.
Passenger Assistants are employed to accompany children and young people (4 – 25 years of age) who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), on their journey to and from school/college or other educational establishments.
They are responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of the children and young people between home and school.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and have a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND.
Passenger Assistants are usually picked up and returned home by the school transport vehicle.
The hours vary but will be around school/college opening and closing times and you will therefore need to be available between approximately 7.00 am to 9.30 am and between 2.30 pm and 5.15 pm to apply for this role.
Full training will be provided prior to commencing work.
This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service.
The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Enhanced Check + DBS Children’s Barred List & DBS Adult’s Barred List.
