Job description
The Spare Parts Packer is responsible for handling, moving, loading and unloading materials by hand and using a variety of material handling equipment. Employees will be responsible for receiving, kitting, delivering, and storing all materials in a timely fashion while maintaining a superior quality. Material damage must be minimized through correct loading and packaging methods.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:Picking and Packing of spare parts orders.Operate winches and other loading devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks and containers.Operate industrial trucks, loaders and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and store and retrieve materials in warehouse.Kanban within Spares Department – managing racking and the reorder of parts.Work closely with Supervisor to highlight and progress any material shortages.Receive all incoming inventory stock – identify it, tag it, transfer to designated area and update the information on the supplier delivery note.Keep the work area clean and organized. Remove all rubbish & debris on a regular basis.Ensure all inventory has the proper documentation and packaging.Load containers and trucks with customer orders as directed by your supervisor.Wear Parts racks must be maintained, including racking. All parts must be numbered and located correctly.Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of Operations, based on business or customer requirements.EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE REQUIREDCompletion of a secondary school education along with one year experience in a similar position is required. A valid forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
