Job description
Are you organised, a good communicator and have the ability to provide good customer service? Our Mercedes Benz dealership at Swansea are currently recruiting a permanent Delivery Driver, to work within our busy Parts team.
Reporting to the Parts & Accessory Manager, the Van Sales Driver is responsible for delivering parts across our regions whilst developing and maintaining strong relationships with our customers.
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-time
Hours of work: 40 hours a week working - Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm
Location: Mercedes Benz of Swansea SA1 8QY
Position Pays: £22,000 per annum plus bonus
The Opportunity
As a Van Sales Driver with Mercedes Benz of Swansea, you will deliver and collect parts efficiently – maximising accuracy and minimising damage. You will develop and maintain outstanding relationships with customers and leverage these relationships to sell additional products and meet van sales targets.
Your duties will include:
Deliveries:
- Check orders to be delivered with the invoice – deal with any anomalies and advise the warehouse team
- Ensure all parts on the invoice are loaded efficiently into the delivery van
- Gain authorised signatures and printed names for customers of all delivered parts
- Drive in a safe and courteous manner within the law, at all times ensuring that the Driver Behaviour guidelines are followed.
Customer:
- Provide the highest levels of customer service by providing a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive and efficient van delivery service
- Report any customer complaints to the Sales Manager
- As the face of Mercedes Benz Swansea, maintain a professional and smart appearance at all times
- Check that all parts delivered match the customer invoice
- Plan the most direct routes to meet customer requirements.
Sales:
- Keep up to date with current and future promotional campaigns and offers and share marketing messages/promotions with customers on delivery route
- Feedback to the Sales Manager any potential sales information gathered on the delivery runs i.e. opening of a new Bodyshop, garage etc.
Systems and processes:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times (particularly manual handling practices)
- Handle all cash, cheque payments securely and in line with the cash handling policy
- Follow and comply with established business processes and guidelines
- Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the Parts & Accessory Manager
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly
In order to be successful for the Van Sales Driver position, you must:
- Hold a current and full clean driving licence
- Excellent customer handling skills – able to build strong relationships
- Strong desire to succeed and exceed allocated sales targets
