Head of Member Events & Cultural Programming
Located in the heart of Mayfair, The Arts Club is one of London’s oldest private members’ clubs – celebrating its’ 160 anniversary this year – and home to a community of members with a passion for the creative arts, literature, and business. From distinguished art exhibitions to fine dining, live music, and an exceptional programme of events for members, the club remains at the heart of contemporary cultural life in London.
We are currently looking for a Head of Member Events & Cultural Programming to lead the Members’ Events Team by creating, planning, budgeting and implementing events and cultural programmes.
Successful applicants will become part of a fun, dynamic team who work closely with the operations teams who bring The Arts Club to life on the daily basis.
In a nutshell:
- Managing all member events to ensure their smooth execution
- Event planning of New Year's Eve and special occasion events; ticket pricing, managing ticket software, revenue costing sheet, expense sheets, logging and budgeting music, booking entertainment, decorations and production costs.
- Co-ordination of flagship events including Halloween, Christmas, New Years' Eve, Valentines', The Arts Club-Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award, Frieze, Summer Party etc
- Sourcing and booking event suppliers
- Strategising future member and cultural events
- Management of event inbox RSVPs, enquiries, event software ticketing, guest lists, payments, cancellations and refunds
- Keeping abreast of cultural happenings in order to produce a relevant programme
- Member event cost projections and performer fee negotiations
- Management of ticket software and processing event bills
- Raising of POs, invoice logging and submission for payment
- Performer cost projections and performer fee negotiations
- Collating copy and images for monthly e-newsletter and marketing collateral including writing copy
- Assisting the Director of Marketing & Communications with relevant info to update social media platforms
About you:
- Previous experience in a similar role within luxury brands / hospitality sector
- The ability to work well under pressure and always retain professionalism
- Enthusiastic, dedicated, resilient, goal-oriented and effective decision-maker
- Tenacious team player who is an avid learner, adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident communicator (written, listening, verbal - multilingual is a bonus)
