Job Role

To provide polite and courteous service to all external and internal guests, interpreting their requirements for various parts, with delivery and developing business opportunities for the department, optimising the guest experience at all times.

Key Responsibilities and Duties (list not exhaustive)

  • To inform, promote and sell parts to external and workshop guests, making the most of opportunities via telephone and direct contact and ensuring guest demands are fulfilled.
  • Accurately complete and store all paperwork, including picking slips, guest contact details, sales and lost sales information to ensure up-to-date guest information is available and accessible at all times.
  • Check all parts returned by guests for damage and condition, noting down returns details and logging the parts back into the department.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised stock warehouse, arranging stock as per guest and workshop requests.
  • Update and maintain parts literature and related information to promote a speedy and effective service for all guests.
  • Maintain an accurate account of stock via stock check and booking out procedures of parts.
  • Plan and establish parts displays to ensure they are up-to-date and professional.
  • Process invoices for the purchase of parts to ensure the prompt receipt of payments when applicable.
  • Inspect all parts upon loading in order to identify any damage before delivery. Ensure all parts for delivery are correct, in satisfactory condition and match despatch paperwork.
  • Obtain the guest’s signature upon delivery to provide proof that parts have been delivered in an acceptable state.
  • Report any concerns relating to the van to the parts manager to ensure it is maintained to required standards with weekly checks as listed i.e. tyre pressure etc.
  • Drive safely at all times complying with company and legal requirements.

Work Pattern

This is a permanent full-time position:

  • Monday – Friday, Saturdays mornings on rota basis.

Successful applicants will possess and be able to offer;

  • Full UK Driving Licence with no major endorsements.
  • Previous delivery experience essential.
  • Prior experience working within a part department desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent customer service experience and the ability to handle conflicting demands
  • Possess excellent communication, organisation an inter-personal skills
  • Be enthusiastic, respectful and friendly to guests and colleagues.
  • Possess a positive / can-do attitude.
  • Have the passion and ability to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Possess high levels of integrity and drive to succeed.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office
