Canon Europe are looking for a talented undergrad student who is interested in a paid 12-month internship within our product sales department. This is an exciting time for our business as we enter a period of accelerated growth and development.

As an Intern at Canon in Canon Europe’s Business to Business (B2B) Partner Channel Sales team, you will be carrying out a variety of tasks to support the growth of the indirect sales revenue across Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an understanding of routes to market & different types of B2B resellers including distributors, resellers & Canon Business Centers. We are looking for a passionate individual with the drive and enthusiasm to make a difference, utilising your academic learning in a corporate setting.

Our team is based at our state-of-the-art EMEA HQ in Uxbridge (Hybrid working – on average 3 days per week in the office) which is easily reaching via the Elizabeth Line, with subsidized restaurant & Costa Coffee and free parking onsite

You will:

  • Be assigned specific tasks as well as defined projects, which are based upon current business needs and the strategic activity to support longer term goals. You will use your analytical skills to monitor performance and take appropriate action to resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Be working towards objectives, you will solicit feedback, design and execute project plans, identify measures of success and generate ideas for improvement. All the time having a commercial mind set, your innovative thinking will allow you to demonstrate your passion in developing robust sales initiatives.
  • Represent Canon, in some instances and will need to have confidence interfacing with resellers & customers and a desire to deliver excellent customer service. Being a team member means you will also be part of a project team and can learn about best practice and for you to share your ideas in a compelling way. Working in collaboration you will provide additional support to the team on sales activities as required.
  • Need be numerical and analytical with good attention to detail. Possessing excellent organisational skills, your project planning skills will be advanced including an ability to provide project updates when asked. An ability to work under pressure, you will have high energy levels to manage a busy workload.
  • Need strong communication skills, written and verbal will be outstanding as will your interpersonal skills to influence and negotiate internally and externally to the organisation.
  • Be confident and able to use your own initiative, you will be able to respond to a fast-paced environment.

You will need

Experience:

  • You will need to be undergraduate 2nd-year student studying a relevant course.
  • Interest in working in a matrix organisation with strong cultural diversity
  • Interest in supporting entrepreneurs & small businesses across Europe
  • Good level of knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel and MS SharePoint would be useful. Most importantly is the desire to learn and put theory into practice.
  • An excellent communicator and proactive self-starter, able to overcome obstacles.

Qualifications:

  • Canon would be interested in those with a predicted 2:1 level degree or equivalent in a business/marketing related degree, but you must have a minimum of C grade in GCSE in Maths and English.
