HMV is the UK’s leading specialist retailer of music, film, pop culture and technology products and we are thrilled to be re-opening our iconic flagship store at 363 Oxford Street.
As this is a brand new store we will be building a new team of fabulous people who are passionate about film, music, tech and pop culture.
We have multiple part-time Sales Assistants positions available, with contracts starting from 10 hours per week.
Our focus is always on giving our customers a great experience so any previous retail or customer service experience will be an advantage.
We also like to interact with customers and fans on our social media platforms, so if you are a social media enthusiast who can create fun and engaging content we also want to hear from you.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all products we offer and a proven ability to sell to our customers.
- Be fully aligned and motivated to achieve both individual store targets and welcome new initiatives
- Maintain high standards in customer service at all times in line with hmv Customer Service Commitments.
- Maximise on shelf availability of stock through effective replenishment and ensure product is fully represented in store to drive commercial opportunities. Inform your Store Management and Loss Prevention team of any on-hand discrepancies in order to monitor stock levels.
- Understand the store customer profile and considering this, use your skill and merchandising initiative to create a vibrant and exciting image in the store.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of promotional activity in-store by reading The Map and Commercial pages on the intranet and ensure awareness and full support of company initiatives launched and ongoing.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping for both front and back of house as per Your Store Expectations.
- Carry out your work in an environmentally responsible manner, acting on opportunities to save energy and materials and to recycle waste.
- Flexibility with working shifts to support the needs of the business is essential
- Provide an effective visual shop floor deterrent via a customer service approach in order to identify and reduce the opportunity for external theft.
- Report security and health & safety issues to the Loss Prevention and/or Store Management team in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.
