Job Type: Permanent
Hours of Work:
Mon - 9am until 6pm, Tues & Weds - 9am until 5.30pm (24.5 hours)
OR Mon – Fri 9am until 2pm (25 hours).
Salary: £21,000 pro rata.
Location: Brandon, Suffolk.
Job Summary:
Vibrant individual required to join our small, friendly sales and customer service team. Must be computer literate, have a keen eye for detail and be sales orientated whilst providing a first class experience to our customers. You should be highly organised with a friendly telephone manner. In return we offer training on a 1-1 basis and a welcoming attitude to our small family run business, on site parking and a competitive salary.
Responsibilities:
- Answering all incoming calls promptly and dealing with all calls in a professional, friendly and polite manner.
- Taking new orders and dealing with any existing orders.
- Processing sales orders, sales invoices, and other paperwork.
- Liaising with customers regarding any delivery issues, stock availability or updates on orders.
- Monitoring the shared inbox frequently ensuring that we respond to all emails within 24 hours.
- Liaising with other departments including warehouse and manufacturing personnel.
- Dealing with any carrier related issues.
- Following up sales enquiries.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with trade customers and suppliers.
- Ensure that we maintain company confidentiality when dealing with third party customers or suppliers.
- Booking parcels with our third party courier service ready for collection from our premises.
- Performing general administrative duties.
- Other ad-hoc duties as and when required.
Essential to the job:
- Attention to detail.
- Proven sales experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure. During our busier months it is a fast-paced & pressured environment.
- Ability to liaise with customers in a friendly and professional manner, this will include dealing with any customer complaints that might arise.
- Possess good oral and written grammar and the ability to write clear and simple emails.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Experience of using Microsoft systems including Outlook, Word, and to a lesser degree Excel.
- CRM experience is desirable but not essential.
- Able to work under own initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Flexibility. From time to time we will need you to be able to work full time hours to cover holiday and sickness. If you are covering sickness this means you will need to be available at short notice.
About You:
We are a family run business with a small, friendly team of people. The ideal candidate will have solid sales and customer service experience, excellent attention to detail and a professional and friendly telephone manner. You will need to be comfortable working in a busy office environment, work well under pressure and use your initiative. Training will be given but the ideal candidate will be a fast learner.
