Job description

Tims Dairy is a privately owned family company specialising in making high quality yogurt and cultured cream products for the retail, foodservice, and ingredients sectors. We are currently recruiting for new team members to facilitate our exciting growth plans.

The Operations Manager will take overall responsibility for the Production and Warehousing Operations, including planning and materials management team.

  • Full responsibility for leading all operational functions including production, warehousing, dispatch, planning, material management, health and safety, continuous improvement.
  • Develop efficiency procedures to ensure the effective use of materials, machines, and manpower to produce quality products on time and within budget
  • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies and encourage this attitude in work practices to drive improvements in productivity and quality
  • Achieve KPI targets on productivity, waste, quality, customer service level and cost
  • Lead, motivate, develop and performance manage the operations departments.
  • Lead the daily site meeting to update on site health and safety, site challenges, upcoming business changes and key information relating to operational and quality performance

· Develop team capabilities by identifying training needs and building a skills matrix, including delivering development plan for the operations team including identifying people with potential and enabling succession pathways within the Company

  • Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed correctly and within the agreed time frames.
  • Working with the General Factory Manager, develop a site development and CAPEX plan. Participate in site capital projects from conception to commissioning.
  • Prepare the site for, and participate in, site audits, for example BRC.
  • Accountable for compliance with all business regulatory policies within operations.
  • Support a culture of positive safety in compliance with HSE requirements. Within the department, accountable for reporting all accidents or dangerous occurrences and investigating as appropriate.
  • Forge a relationship with all other departments to ensure maximum cooperation!

Salary: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
