Part Time Payroll Officer – On site working - Ware Campus - Permanent.
12 hours a week, worked over 2 days to include Fridays
We are looking to recruit a Payroll Officer through our subsidiary company Herts Resourcing Group (HRG) who will assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with payroll operations for Hertford Regional College and its subsidiary companies (HRG and CK Assessment and Training Ltd).
We run the Payroll function totally in-house. Working alongside the Payroll and Benefits Manager you will ensure that each stage of the payroll process is properly actioned, that all staff are paid correctly, that correct payments are made and appropriate information is provided to our pension schemes, HMRC and other statutory bodies.
You will assist and lead in the absence of the Payroll and Benefits Manager with all aspects of payroll processing using our integrated HR and Payroll system Civica / People Live, including accurate processing of new starters, leavers, changes; calculation of payments to include processing of P45’s and pension forms to pension providers. You will also assist with queries and enquiries from employees, auditors, HMRC, HM Courts, Government departments and other statutory authorities.
To be successful in the role you must have proven experience of running monthly in-house payroll and have a good understanding of payroll processing and be looking for your next big challenge within a payroll environment. You will need to be self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude and be able to work on your own as well as part of a well-established team.
You will need to have good all round IT skills, excellent communication and numeracy skills and have worked with payroll and HR systems.

Hours: 12 hours per week - worked over 2 days including Fridays
Salary: £8,119.19 - £9,425.72 (Based on FTE £24,360 – £28,280) p.a. depending on qualifications, experience and skills.
Annual Leave: 25 days plus all public and Bank holidays pro rata
