Part Time Lecturer in Bass Guitar. Sessional hours.
An opportunity has arisen for a specialist Bass Guitar Lecturer to join the Music and Sound team at Leicester College.
Responsibilities include delivering bass guitar classes across all our music performance courses from Level 2 to Level 5. You will lead on the delivery of small group bass classes which will require you to help our students embed technique, learn music theory, develop fretboard knowledge, read music, learn songs/groove/feel/timing, and support the students in developing professional skills for group and solo assessment. You will also assist the course team in preparing students for the college gigs throughout the academic year.
You will hold a minimum Level 4 in the vocational area as well as a minimum Level 2 qualification in maths and English (or equivalent).
You will be able to demonstrate high levels of musicianship, and experience, and have the skills and passion to motivate, engage and inspire young people of all musical abilities and backgrounds.
You will have high professional standards, including excellent timekeeping and communication skills. You should be an enthusiastic team player, who is able to use their own initiative and be willing to learn. With proven administrative skills the successful applicant will be required to sustain and develop high quality teaching and learning in the area.
