Job description
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Junior Network Engineer to join our team, offering a mix of office-based and field service work. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals interested in networking, AV and smart lighting systems.
Position Summary: As a Part-Time Junior Network Engineer, you will have a diverse set of responsibilities, both in the office and in the field. In the office, you will remotely monitor networks and provide phone support to our clients. In the field, you will work alongside senior engineers to install home network equipment, including network switches and access points. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to integrate these systems into audiovisual setups if required. We are also prepared to provide training in networking, Control 4 programming, and Lutron Homeworks to enhance your skill set.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Responsibilities:
- Remotely monitor and manage client networks for performance and security.
- Provide technical support to clients over the phone.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
- Document network configurations and client interactions.
Field Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers to install home network equipment.
- Configure and program network switches and access points.
- Integrate network systems into audiovisual setups, if necessary.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving on-site network issues.
- Ensure the successful implementation of network solutions.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a degree program related to IT, Networking, or a similar field.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology.
- Excellent communication skills for client support.
- Willingness to work in both office and field settings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks and challenges.
