About the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald
The Office of the Clerk of Tynwald provides a wide range of parliamentary and administrative services. The office is proud to deliver high-quality services to Tynwald and the public, and has a reputation for excellence both on and off the Isle of Man.
You will be joining a small, friendly and professional organisation of just over 30 people who work hard to deliver the wide range of services expected in a modern parliament.
Corporate and Engagement Services is a busy, quality-conscious division who combine the required work on governance and compliance with providing engagement and educational opportunities for both the Manx community and for those visiting the Island in a professional or personal capacity. The team is proud to have the responsibility for the organisation of the Tynwald Ceremony and related events.
Legislative Services are a capable and focused division within the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald who support Members of Tynwald in all three Chambers in the areas of research, committee secretariat and administrative support, the Official Report (Hansard) and other publications.
About the role
The role is part-time (0.5 fte) and for a limited-term of twelve months. The role is an exciting opportunity for a HR professional to work in a small, forward-thinking parliament leading a change project.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Engagement Services, you will drive forward improvements to the Human Resource function within the Office. To achieve this, you will undertake a review of our current HR policies and procedures in relation to legislative compliance, performance management and staff development; prepare advice and formulate recommendations for improvement and change; then work with us to implement positive change.
About You
- You will have (or will be working towards) a CIPD qualification.
- You will have knowledge and experience of working within Human Resources, particularly in employment compliance and employee training and development.
- You will have excellent organisational or project-management skills.
- You will have experience of delivering people-focused projects and developing people to be the best they can be.
- You will have leadership experience and enjoy working in a small team.

Things to note:
