The Bedford Swan is a thriving hotel in the centre of Bedford, with 113 bedrooms and a large Conference and Banqueting business including weddings, funerals, birthday parties and corporate events, since its recent refurbishment the venue is the first choice in the town for all sorts of occasions!

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Hotel Receptionist to join the team ensuring our guest’s expectations are always exceeded and that we build on the great reputation of the hotel.

We are looking for someone passionate and excited about great customer service and with superb organisation skills. You should have some previous experience, in a similar environment and be happy dealing with our Hotel Guests.

This position is for either 2 days per ( 16 hours per week ) or week or 3 days per week ( 24 hours per week)

Please note, this role involves shifts typically, 6.45 am to 3.15 pm and 2.45 pm to 11.15 pm, including weekends.

Responsibilities will include:-

· Welcome (check in) all arriving guests to the required minimum required standard;

· handle all telephone calls, including external and internal for in-house guests, enquiries and other departments;

· record and report maintenance and security issues, raised by guests or employees and follow up where appropriate;

· record and process lost property and follow up where appropriate

· Make out-of-hour bedroom reservations;

· conduct general administrative duties using Microsoft office, Chrome, the hotel property management system etc;

· make lunch and dinner reservations in the hotel restaurants for in-house guests and non-residents;

· Balance cash and card charges at the end of each shift

Hours will be 5 days a week and working a mix of Early and Late shifts with weekend working a key part of the job.

Please note only experienced Hotel Receptionists will be considered for this role.
