Job description

A leading private college based in Central London are looking to recruit a 'Hair & Media Make Up Lecturer'.

You MUST have a 'Teaching' and 'Level 3 in relevant qualification.

The role is on a Part-Time, permanent contract.

Main Duties - Lecturer

  • To plan for and deliver high quality teaching in the subject areas required, using resources and equipment available.
  • Have your room and resources set up and ready at least 5 minutes prior to lessons starting in order to be present to meet and greet your learners and to commence lessons on time.
  • Ensure all marking, assessments and any moderation are completed timely and tracked appropriately.
  • Maintain consistently of lessons in line with the Ofsted CIF ’Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ criteria under the teaching, learning and assessment key judgement. Ensure all learners are fully engaged with their learning; developing the skills, knowledge and standards required for successful completion of their programme and industry expectations.
  • Actively encourage and promote the process and importance of developing essential English, maths and ICT skills, including integrating these into sessions and supporting learners based on their starting points.
  • Liaise with other staff as appropriate to ensure work is covered effectively.
  • Reflect and evaluate teaching practice to ensure strategies used are effectively engaging learners. Proactively seeking feedback from peers, managers and learners to support this process.

You MUST have the following skills / qualifications/ experience -

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Level 3 hair and/or Media Make Up Qualification
  • Assessor's qualification is desirable
  • Make-up
  • Eye treatments- tinting, brow shaping and lash extensionshair colouring
  • hair Styling- blow drying long hair up, plaiting, twisting, wet set pin curl
  • Wig making- producing a woven weft of hair on a weaving frame
  • Photographic make-up
  • Body Art
  • Tanning
  • Fashion and Photographic make-up
  • Media Make-up
  • Camouflage make-up
  • Airbrush make-up
  • Individual Permanent Lashes
  • Creative hair dressing
  • Level 2 English
  • Level 2 maths
