Part-Time Dog Walker / Trainer

This role will primarily involve walking our client’s puppies and dogs in group settings of no more than 4 dogs, as well as 1:1 walking with dogs who prefer their own company. For the right person, we can also discuss the potential of taking up the opportunity of training in a small group class setting and 1:1 private clients.

Role Potential & Hours

The hours available are flexible from 15 hours per week as a starting point. Walks are usually carried out any time between the hours of 9am and 3pm weekdays, with occasional weekends.

The role has strong potential to increase in days and hours as the business grows and expands, and there is a strong potential for further duties, dependant on the candidate and their availability.

The ideal candidate would be looking to work for us on a long-term basis, and willing to show commitment to joining what is already a thriving expanding business.

Location: Villages in and around South Derbyshire, DE65 postcode area – potential for expansion to surrounding areas with business growth.

You must have a clean driving licence and be confident driving in and around the villages of Derby.

Pay: This role is part-time, the salary would be from £18,500 pro-rata based on the part-time hours available.

Experience/Essential requirements

– Customer Service experience.

– Will be required to work independently, as well as in a team setting.

– A full UK Driving License and use of your own vehicle is required.

– An interest in undertaking further training and continuing professional development (CPD), as well as adhering to our positive, reward-based methods is essential.

Essential Criteria

– You must be confident, enthusiastic, and committed to Lavender Garden Animal Service’s premium standards, with a true passion for and skill with puppies and dogs of all breeds and sizes.

– The role will include holding client keys and visiting client’s homes and as such, you must be extremely trustworthy, honest and reliable.

– You must have a Smartphone (E.g. iPhone) with data access during your working hours, and good technical ability with email.

– You must be fluent in English, a good communicator, socially confident and able to put clients at ease.

– You must be willing to work in all-weather types.

– Physical fitness and stamina is essential, this is a physically demanding role.

Desirable Criteria

– Qualification in animal behaviour, welfare or other similar area. (Priority will be given to such candidates)

– Certified in Pet First Aid

The interview is a two-step process; the initial session will be an online interview week beginning 27th February and successful candidates will then be invited to attend an hour’s group walk with our head walker.
