Job description
Set in the heart of Moseley since 1996, The Birmingham Acupuncture and Chiropractic Centre was founded to provide excellent services in the field of complementary health care.
We are now looking for someone who is well organised with good attention to detail and can communicate well with patients and therapists.
Previous experience of working as a receptionist would be desirable but is not essential as training will be given.
Core Hours: Friday 10.00am – 5.30pm. Saturday: 9.00am - 3.30pm Additional hours may be available depending on clinic demand.
Main duties and responsibilities:
· Opening up of reception, checking answerphone etc. to start the day
· Dealing with phone calls, email enquiries and visitors professionally
· Greeting patients at reception, dealing with patients in a pleasant manner
· Making appointments via phone/email and in person and sending out confirmations
· Receiving payments via cash/card with an end of day reconciliation
· Liaising with therapists regarding scheduling of appointments
· Maintaining patient records
· General admin work - copying, mailing, stocktaking
· Ensure waiting area and communal areas are clean and welcoming at all times
Skills & Experience
- Receptionist experience desirable but not essential
- Office administrative experience
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office, and internet
- Record management, knowledge of GDPR guidelines and patient confidentiality guidelines
Personal skills and qualities
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritise workload
- Work calmly under pressure
- Willingness and ability to adapt to day-to-day changes in work, take initiative
- Approachable, professional, excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to cover annual leave and sickness as required
