IKEA Lakeside are looking for 3 new checkout assistants to join our busy and growing checkout team.
This role is varied with no two days being the same; one minute you could be on checkouts and the next minute, you could be meeting and greeting our customers, managing a queue, hosting trolleys, or assisting customers. This is physically demanding and requires the ability to work outside.
In the IKEA world, we call this position a Checkout Services Co-worker.
Expected Starting Date: 12th March 2023
WHAT WE OFFER
- £10.90 basic hourly rate - rising to £11.45 from 1st MAY 2023
- Living Wage Foundation Employer
12 hours working 3 days out of 7 and 3 out of 4 weekends (evenings & weekend)
We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, this role will require availability to work until 10.30pm Fri & Sat and until 6.30pm on Sundays and full weekends.
We offer permanent contracts, advanced scheduling & regular weekend off

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
- You aim to create a positive experience for our customers, so they will want to return and shop with us again over time.
- You work together with colleagues in other functions to improve the customer experience.
- Provide an efficient and accurate checkout experience in various areas of the store.
- Ensure that payments are handled in a reliable, efficient, accurate and friendly way.
- Build loyalty by ensuring customers have an exceptional shopping experience.
- Click and Collect - checking orders are accurately picked and delivering goods to the customer in the car park.
