About the Role
Salary: £46,208 to £50,514 depending upon skills and experience
35.5 hours per week 3 week rota. Early, Lates and Night shift
We are looking to offer Permanent contracts
The Hub Engineer 3 is a key member of the Hub team and will develop and maintain relationships with key internal customers and suppliers. You will be expected to be able to diagnose and rectify high level faults and breakdowns where required and provide high level technical supervision and optimise the performance all plant equipment.
Undertake specialist fault investigation to determine root cause of Automation downtime, either individually or by leading a team of engineers to assist.
To optimise the performance of all plant the Hub Engineer 3 will:
- Undertake specialist repairs as required
- Prepare Technical reports for the Engineering Manager to assist with updates
- Undertake small Automation projects to improve Automation performance
- Liaise with external Automation suppliers either direct in person, or via email or phone, to update or enquire about specialist help
- Work with Automation suppliers on site and ensure they work safely and conform with Contractor Safe Working rules
- Assist the Engineering Manager in providing/arranging cover for Operational and Non-Operational Engineering shifts
- Where applicable, and in line with relevant national and local level agreements, may be asked to provide shift cover at the Engineering Manager’s request.
About You
- You will be able to diagnose and solve equipment problems in a planned, cost effective manner, taking into account employee needs and customer requirements;
- Act in accordance with current health and safety legislation identifying best practice, giving guidance and direction to others. High level of fault-finding skill and fault rectification
- Hold a minimum of a Level 5 qualification in electronic, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or suitable relevant and demonstrable experience. Have, or be willing to work towards, Managing Safety and have a full appreciation of all aspects of H&S Legislation and Standards.
- Good inter-personal skills, communicator, computer literate, proactive interest in technological progress and problem-solving skills.
This is a multi-skilled environment. You will be qualified in at least one discipline but will be required to undertake work in other trades according to the nature of their duties
