The role

The post holder will provide communications expertise and support for the Perivoli Africa Research Centre (PARC) to engage successfully and grow the Centre’s internal and external audiences, and stakeholders.

PARC was launched in 2020 and represents the University of Bristol’s cross-disciplinary commitment to championing transformation in research and partnership to advance Africa’s achievement of its own aspirations.

PARC acts as:

  • a connector of people and constituencies within the University, the continent and globally who are invested in the generation and use of knowledge to accomplish Africa’s priority agendas.
  • a catalyst and forum for interdisciplinary inquiry, practice and learning predicated on mutual respect and inclusion.

PARC is generously supported by the Perivoli Foundation.

What will you be doing?

The postholder will work with the PARC Team to develop and deliver integrated communication plans that support the achievement of the Centre’s objectives, and will be responsible for their delivery, including the development, creation, delivery and proof-reading of all materials for multiple channels.

PARC’s focus areas are:

  • inquiry and thought-leadership on transforming research cooperation
  • capstone programmes of research and policy engagement
  • mutual knowledge sharing and capacity strengthening
  • community of interest

You should apply if

  • You have significant experience in a similar role at a UK or African HEI or NGO.
  • You have experience with developing effective communications plans to engage African stakeholders.
  • You are a skilled social media practitioner who is experienced in working with website platforms (wordpress, e.g.)
