About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

We’re looking for an innovative Paramedic or Primary Care Nurse, who thrives on a challenge to provide high-quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients in both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting - performing procedures such as suturing, IV access, haemorrhage control, wound care and cardiac & CVA intervention. 1-2 years post registration experience required.

As a Registered Nurse (Adult) or Paramedic you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team at HMP Dovegate by bringing you clinical skills and passion for care. You could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency. Within this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
You’ll be playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care within HMP Dovegate, working as part of a team of primary care nurses, and delivering care to patients both within the healthcare centre and on the Wings/ blocks.

About You

How will we support you?
  • Bespoke induction
  • Competency framework
  • Regional and national career development opportunities
  • Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs
  • Support from the wider team

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £44742 per annum - depending on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

It doesn’t stop there… we also offer a company pension scheme which we as Practice Plus Group also pay into, 25 days annual leave increasing with service up to 28 days per year, plus 8 public bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time), NHS blue light card, discounted Costco memberships, access to Boundless memberships for attractions and parks, shopping discounts, free eye tests for computer screen users, an 24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial assistance when you need it.
