About the Role
GP Healthcare Alliance, a federation of GP practices in Castle Point and Rochford, is hosting an innovative service to recruit an enthusiastic and committed, part-time paramedic to join Rochford District Primary Care Network. This is a part-time post, working 0.25 WTE, to include a Monday, and covering the four practices that comprise the PCN: Ashingdon Medical Centre, The Practice Leecon Way, The Puzey Family Practice and Wakering Medical Centre.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of a GP, the post holder will provide care for the presenting patient, within the GP practice, focusing on history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. They will:
- demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the service.
- demonstrate critical thinking in the decision-making process.
- work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
- provide a holistic and clinical service, with support and supervision of GPs, implementing agreed management plans and following approved protocols as appropriate.
- triage, take a comprehensive history, examine, diagnose, and treat/refer or a range of minor injuries/illnesses/infections as required.
About the Candidate
- Educated to degree/diploma level in paramedicine or equivalent experience.
- Healthcare professional, with an active registration with the relevant regulatory bodies.
- Completed two years ‘consolidation of learning’ period as a newly qualified paramedic.
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a band 6 (equivalent) paramedic.
- Working towards developing masters level or equivalent capability in paramedic areas of practice and has completed and been signed off formally within the clinical pillar competencies of the paramedic FCP/AP roadmap to practice.
- Experience of working as a senior healthcare professional undertaking home visits and/or experience in an emergency setting or clinic base.
- Working knowledge of SystmOne would be advantageous as would experience of ordering and interpreting tests on ICE.
